CASSIES 2018 Announces Call for Entries

Toronto, ON — June 2, 2017 — The CASSIES, Canada’s only industry awards program that recognizes communications and advertising effectiveness based on extensive, publicly available case studies, announced its 2018 call for entries. Submissions are due August 30, 2017, with the early bird pricing valid until August 1, 2017. The CASSIES awards are valued in the marketing communications industry not only for their demanding submission process and rigorous judging, but also for honouring the client-agency relationships by accepting only joint submissions by the agency/client teams.

This core principle is also reflected in the CASSIES judging panel. As a tradition, it features two co-chairs – one representing the agency side and one representing the client side. This year, it’s an all-female duo of seasoned industry professionals: Cathy Collier, CEO of OMD Canada, and Anne-Marie LaBerge, SVP, Global Brands & Communications at BRP. The notable judging panel will be announced later.

Over the last few years, the awards program organizers have seen a steady trend of stronger entries from across the communications spectrum and expect the trend to continue this year both in quality and quantity of entries.

The 2018 CASSIES will continue to demonstrate dedication to the most important advertising effectiveness metrics as the ultimate factor in the selection process. This principle is also represented in the competition’s campaign slogan this year: “CASSIES. Counting what counts.”


The pre-eminent CASSIES awards show, celebrating its 25th year, is Canada’s only industry awards recognizing business effectiveness based on rigorous published cases. The CASSIES are presented by the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA), the Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C) and produced by strategy magazine. Since its inception in 1993, the CASSIES has recognized the business achievements of over 500 campaigns from Canada’s top advertisers and communications agencies.
