CASSIES Awards Unveils its Prestigious List of Winners

Toronto, ON, – November 16, 2015 — The shortlist of venerable business-building campaigns that will be recognized at the upcoming CASSIES Awards, Canada’s only industry awards program recognizing business effectiveness - was today unveiled, in advance of the February 2016 awards ceremony.

“The list is widely anticipated, and for good reason,” says John Bradley, judging convener, CASSIES. “As the CASSIES Awards are among the most demanding in terms of submission requirements and case writing within the creative communications industry, so too is the level of prestige associated with making the final cut. On behalf of our judges and co-chairs, I would like to extend congratulations to all of our short-listed client and agency teams.”

A total of 38 winners will be handed out at the February 2016 ceremony, representing the best-of-the-best in business-building programs. This year’s short list of winners can be found here: http://strategyonline.ca/2015/11/16/who-made-the-cassies-shortlist/.

The annual awards, recognizing winners in a spectrum of disciplines including advertising, public relations, social media and shopper marketing, made a notable change for 2016, featuring two judging co-chairs, one representing the agency side in Juniper Park’s Jill Nykoliation, and one representing the client side, Kraft Canada Inc.’s Tony Matta.

While today’s shortlist unveiling is guaranteed to spark congratulations for the winners, the competition’s designations of gold, silver or bronze will be reserved for the announcement at the annual CASSIES Awards show on February 18, 2016 at The Carlu in Toronto. Tickets for the event are available at cassies.ca.

“We are delighted to have seen a most encouraging trend in the form of stronger entries across the entire range of communications categories,” adds Bradley. “In some part, we trust this was due to our mission to improve industry standards, and the posting of the 2015 gold-winning cases on cassies.ca, to help case writers along in the process.”

After the awards are officially bestowed at the 2016 ceremony, all winning cases will be added to the CASSIES online library, a rich industry resource that features all of the past winning, business-building strategies that have engaged Canadian consumers and stakeholders over the past two decades.
